In parallel with its active implant activities, Cisteo MEDICAL designs nitinol medical devices under contract, and has put its expertise to work in particular on stents with complex and specific shapes.
To gain a better understanding of nitinol's behavior, the company has conducted a joint study with several laboratories and universities.
Led by Achref SALLAMI, PhD in mechanical engineering and R&D project manager at Cisteo MEDICAL, this study also involves the CNRS, FEMTO-ST and several schools and universities (UFC, SupMicroTech, IRDL and UBS).
The aim of this research is to identify the effort required by the practitioner to move the stent in the catheter, and to understand the practitioner's behavior at the moment of release.
We wrote an article for the trade magazine DeviceMed to explain this study. The article was published in the Implant dossier.
